IMM accelerated its preparations for a possible earthquake in Istanbul. IMM and Turkey Informatics Foundation (TBV), will hold the Earthquake Hackathon event. In the hackathon, solutions will be developed to overcome communication problems that may occur during and after an earthquake.
Hackathon, which is expected to produce solutions for the communication problems that may arise among the victims, their relatives and rescue teams during and after a possible earthquake, will be held on March 13th -15th, 2020. Applications for the event to be held in Zemin Istanbul, located at Şişhane Metro Station, should be submitted here: https://depremhackathonu.ibb.istanbul/
The application deadline for the event, which is limited to 100 people, is February 20th, 2020. 15 teams will be selected to participate in the event, and the teams will start a 48-hour ‘development’ race. Contestants are expected to produce innovative solutions using new technologies such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, big data, blockchain, and internet of things.
The Hackathon prizes are as follows;
• 20,000 ₺ to the first place
• 15,000 ₺ to the second place
• 10,000 ₺ to the third place
In order for the contestants to win the award, innovative product and service ideas, which have not been written before and contain a brand new solution, will be expected to be transformed into projects.
